Educational Programme
................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
With higher education becoming expensive and a growing demand for assistance,
Sanjivani offers significant support in this area of education.
The trust follows a systematic distribution of scholarship: After the declaration of HSC /
SSC results, scholarship forms are distributed amongst the families that fall under our
target socio-economic profile.
To ease the process for these families, the requirements of documents are kept to a
minimum. We require them to provide:

educational records (mark sheets)
originals of salary certificate & fees receipt
Based on these criteria and our own verification, a final interview is conducted with
parents to decide the eligibility and amount of assistance.
This year we circulated approximately 200 scholarship forms across Mumbai.
After assessing a student's family background and socio-economic conditions, we
provided scholarship to 125 students who are mostly pursuing technical courses.
Our scholarship program has benefited students from economically-disadvantaged
backgrounds i.e:

students having a single parent
earning member of the family has expired
parents are suffering from severe illness like cancer, kidney failure or TB.
Since the last two years, we have extended financial assistance to children affected by or
children of leprosy patients at Acworth Leprosy Hospital.
Unfortunately, the demand for financial help always outstrips the supply of funds available
to us. We'd love your participation to help us extend our distribution.
Door Step School
A good teacher and quality education has the power to change lives. Think about a teacher whose classes you enjoyed and how it has very subconsciously affected the choices you made in your life. We aspire to bestow the same gift to the children whose lives interact with Sanjvani.
We have collaborated with Door Step School since June, 2012 for a new Educational Programmed for the lesser privileged children in Lord Harris and Bora Bazaar Municipal Schools through which we support more than 485 children in the primary and secondary sections.
We also provide Reference Libraries (Sandarbha Vachnalaya) in Municipal schools for children from standard V through X who need a place where they can sit undisturbed and focus on their studies. Story books, atlases, dictionaries and other useful material, are available at these centers; as is the required space and quiet.
We conduct workshops in Maths, Science, Geography, creativity workshops and Languages. To foster their creativity, we organised a drawing competition which the children enjoyed, immensely.
Twice a week we visit these schools to observe the activities in study class and guide them with their doubts and difficulties. The classes are conducted everyday by professional teachers who use interesting teaching kits for children.
